Chief Engineer, Central Electricity Authority

Shri Bairwa is the Chief Engineer (In charge) of the Power System Planning & Appraisal-ll Division of the Central Electricity Authority. His division oversees a wide range of activities, including meetings of the Eastern and Northeastern Region Power Committees (Transmission Planning), import / export of electricity, and transmission planning studies for the development of transmission systems in these regions. His responsibilities include preparing transmission plans through the Standing Committee on Short Term & Perspective Power System Planning, developing special transmission schemes for the Northeastern Region, and working with the National Committee on Transmission. He is also involved in regional cooperation initiatives such as SAARC, BIMSTEC, and SASEC, and oversees the establishment of the BIMSTEC Energy Centre. Additionally, he coordinates cross-border power trade, plans new cross-border links with Nepal and Bhutan, and provides advice on transmission aspects and cross-border trade of electricity.
