Sunil is currently leading a project “Energy Transition with Distribution Utilities” under the bilateral Indo – German Energy Programme in GIZ GmbH. Earlier, he worked on aspects of grid integration of renewables under the Green Energy Corridors (GEC) project. Sunil has an experience of more than 15 years in the domain of clean energy policy, regulation, business models, markets, grid integration and utility reform aspects. He was part of the team which worked on the India’s national solar mission. Apart from that he has also worked with many government agencies, utilities, private investors, banking institutions and academic institutions on topics related to renewable energy, energy efficiency, energy transition and power sector reforms. Sunil holds a bachelor’s degree in Engineering and a Master’s in Business Administration (Power) from the National Power Training Institute (Ministry of Power), India. Sunil is a RENAC (Germany) certified ‘Grid Manager’ on RE grid integration issues and holds a project management certification from IIM Calcutta.
