He is BTech Mechanical Engg - with University Gold Medal, from College of Engineering and Technology, Bhubaneswar. Joined NTPC in 1991 as an trainee and started his career with commissioning of 2 X 500MW Talcher Super Thermal Power Station. There after joined the turbine design and Engineering division of NTPC, spearheaded the transition from predominantly 500MW subcritical technology (38% efficiency) in 90's to Ultra supercritical technology (42%) and also instrumental in design of AUSC plant with 46% efficiency. Adopted bulk tendering concept for supercritical units with phased manufacturing leading to India's "AtmaNirbhar" in supercritical technology. Played major role in inorganic growth of NTPC & revival of stressed power assets. Adopted air cooled condenser for 660/800MW units at water starved regions North Karanpura & Patratu first time in India goes to his credit. At present is heading the nuclear vertical on NTPC and played a crucial role in Revival of JV with NPCIL pursuing accelerated nuclear capacity addition in India. Development of Indian SMR is one of his priority.
