P Devanand is the Chief PSCC and Technical Services at Tata Power Mumbai . He has over two decades of experience in various facets of power distribution. As In charge of Mumbai’s Integrated control centre for operating key transmission assets , hydro and Tata Power Distribution, Devanand has been instrumental in putting in place various initiatives for monitoring Islanding, training for Black swan events, Optimal Power Planning systems and Cybersecurity. He has also started pilots in the direction of Discom level trading platform for green adoption and participation of consumers in Discom Power Management. Prior to his deployment in Mumbai , he was in TPDDL, Delhi, where in he was instrumental in execution of Asia’s first ADMS project with GIS/SCADA/CRM integration. He was also one of the key members in setting up of Smart Grid lab which has now become a beacon of showcasing how smart grid works in real sense. He is a profound believer that the true Smart Grid would be achieved if we could operate all the technologies in Grid/ Grid Edge and Customers in a seamlessly integrated way, he also believes that these may be achieved through extended platforms and designing for flexibility through consumer participation. He has a degree in Electrical Engineering and has done his MBA from FMS, Delhi. He is also an IIM-Ahmedabad Alumnus. He is also a member of Managing Committee of ERDA.
