Kulbhushan Kumar is a Partner in Energy & Climate practice at Grant Thornton Bharat LLP. He has more than 25 years of consulting experience in the value chain of demand side management. He is an Electrical Engineer from Delhi College of Engineering and holds Master of Technology in Energy and Environmental Management from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi. Kulbhushan’s expertise in energy efficiency lie in demand side management, technology assessment, development of business models, measurement, and verification protocol, bid process management, demonstration of pilot projects, training, and capacity building of various stakeholders. He has championed the successful UJALA initiative, national DSM capacity building program for DISCOMs, national Agriculture DSM program and the DSM portal development for BEE. He has supported EESL and select DISCOMs to replicate the success of UJALA with other major end use applications. Kulbhushan led the team to create a Utility CEO Forum on DSM and he orchestrated Forum meetings. He led the assignment that developed a Model State policy on Utility driven DSM'. He has also spearheaded the drafting a State DSM Policy for Delhi & developing a tool to assess the cost effectiveness of DSM investments in Haryana.
