Samved Patil is an Executive Director in Energy & Climate practice at Grant Thornton Bharat LLP. He has more than 15 years of consulting experience in the value chain of demand side management, advanced energy storage and electric mobility. He is a Mechanical Engineer from VJTI, Mumbai University and holds a Master of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from Cornell University, USA. Samved has worked on various projects including development of DSM strategy, planning, M&V, development of energy and social programs, energy benchmarking studies, technology assessment, preparation of feasibility studies, potential assessment, business plan, demonstration of pilot projects, training, and capacity building. He has significant experience of working with several multilateral and bilateral organizations such as the World Bank, ADB, KfW, GIZ, UNIDO, UNDP, GGGI, DFID etc. and has closely worked with various government organizations in India and abroad. Samved has formed partnerships with significant players and technology providers in the fields of Demand Response (DR), Electric Vehicles (EV), and the charging ecosystem. Samved is currently supporting GIZ in exploring and demonstrating the potential of Demand Response in India through the implementation of pilot measures in collaboration with utilities and/or regulatory commissions.
